Blind Side by Clair M. Poulson

Noletta was just out hiking with her dog when she heard gun shots. She ran up and saw a dead man on the side of the trail. When she heard something in the bushes, she turned around and suddenly felt something go through her head, and she fell unconscious. Someone had shot her. Luckily, her dog ran after the shooter and bit him.  He dropped his gun and ran. Noletta survived, but the price of her survival was to be blinded for the rest of her life. The shooter still thinks that she saw him and goes out and tries to kill her. Will he finish her off, or will her dog recognize him? I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend this 328 page book for children ages 12 and up.
